Dear Principle/Director
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to promote your Dance College/School whilst offering your pupils the additional chance of expanding upon their performing experience.
The Winning College/School will receive a cash prize (On a points basis), a Feature on Media Modelling and Casting Agencies website, which will also promote information and contact details of your college or school with a link taking any interested parties straight to your own website. A press pack will be sent to all local newspapers, one group photograph and a perpetuity trophy (that unfortunately must be returned) you will also be invited back in 2007 to take centre stage. Plans and terms are being investigated for the winning school be invited as part of the Kent team who may get the chance to go to Hollywood in 2007, further information in this will be available on the day. We are in talks with Meridian TV so coverage of this event is a possibility.
This fantastic event will enable dance students to experience the spirit of dance in an encouraging and enthusiastic atmosphere. Dance colleges attending can promote further education within the performing arts to potential students. Industry professional (Agents/Bookers) will be attending so networking is a must. This event must not be missed.
I will now take the opportunity to tell you a little about myself, my name is Frances Metcalfe, I am the proprietor of Media Modelling and Casting Agency, I have been in the media industry for many years, providing both TV and Film with performers, and I also coordinate Fashions and Talent Shows both locally and further a field. I am also the Principle of Franze Academy of Modelling and Commercial Dance, where we cover all aspects for the BTDA Modelling syllabus and Dance. It was the Franze Academy dancers that were part of The England Dance Team that went to Hollywood in 2005 and who returned to Kent with the award of excellence in Jazz. The selection was made after the judging panel had seen thirty States and nine other countries perform, this could be your college/school, it was a life changing experience for our dancers and chaperones. The winning school/college will have their details sent over and you might have the honor of being invited to Hollywood to take part in this event.
Once you have registered you will be kept informed of all timings and schedules
Please note it will be your school /college responsibility to insure that all your dancers/students are supervised and organised on the day. Following the ruling of the British Dance Council and under advice I have drawn up a disclaimer, which will be necessary for all Principals/directors to sign and return to me with your registration form along with a copy of insurance This disclaimer covers ALL movement choreographed in your routines, which should already be covered by your present insurance and would therefore should not present a problem. As you would expect participation in the competition is dependant upon proof of insurance. Should you like any assistance or advice on this matter please do not hesitate to contact me. Any accident(s) on the day must be reported to Gisèle Buckingham or myself, both the venue and I hold public liability insurance to cover normal accidents where negligence can be proven.
On the day you will be given a fire drill, you and your student MUST attend
Judging
Independent judges are to be used - The competition is split into two levels,
13 years and under - 14 years and over
